The Plettenberg Equestrian Academy (PEA) is based on the Fijnbosch Nooitgedacht Stud, which is situated in the picturesque Harkerville forest belt between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay. The stud has approx 80 Nooitgedacht horses of all ages and two Nooitgedacht stallions standing at stud, as well as a few exclusive livery horses. Fijnbosch prides itself on breeding and producing top class, well grown out Nooitgedacht horses which are always placed in the top standings at shows.

All young stock at Fijnbosch Stud are bred, backed and produced on the stud by the dedicated team working there, and the Academy students are part of this team.  Students get to take part in the day to day running of the stud so that they get real hands on experience about how a stud farm operates e.g. hold horses for and watch coverings and take part in neo-natal foal care, preparation for showing and inspections of youngstock, backing and training of youngstock.
